The December 2003 event.
The family get together was held at Uncle Bernie's on the 16th.
We shared a very special afternoon filled with warm smiles and lots of laughter and this time we had a few guests as well. Thank you to Wayne and Melanie who are visiting from Cape Town, Wayne played the keyboard during our praise singing session, and to Shaun and Antoinette - Shaun who works with Wayne also lead the praise singing, and also to Aunty Mighty and Mr. Marias and not forgetting Aunty Lollie and Uncle Issie for joining us on this special day, which also happened to be our host, .
The afternoon started off with the normal chit chat. That's how we all play catch up in this family, you know the normal who's doing what and who's going where. It seems that most if not all of us are going to East London for the Boetie and Deidre's weddings. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and Uncle Dudley and Aunty Hendrina arranging two weddings in two weeks is no simple task.
We then indulged in an oh so lekker "potjie" thanks to Wayne and Wayne and Shaun.The snacks, cakes and sweets were provided by the ladies.
The rest of the now, late afternoon was spent singing praise songs and listening to testimonies and a few speeches which lasted until about 8:30 pm when Uncle Issie closed in prayer. Everyone departed feeling enriched by the days activities.
By Gods grace we look forward to the next family gathering in January 2004.
